FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Got questions? We've got answers! Email us at info@turtleheadmusic.com if you have a question that isn't answered here.
1
How much are lessons?
For all Founding Students (former Route 60 students and new students who enroll before August 1, 2026), weekly private half-hour lessons cost $25.
Starting August 1, 2026, weekly private half-hour lessons will cost $30.
2
How do I sign up?
Book a trial lesson. After your trial lesson, you'll be able to enroll in weekly lessons! (Don't see a time slot that works for you? Email us and we'll see what we can work out!)
3
How do I pay?
Weekly lessons are billed as a flat tuition fee of $100 per month. This fee is auto-billed on the 1st of the month to the credit card you have on file.

Monthly tuition fees are the same every month, regardless of the number of lessons in a month. Most months include four or five lessons, with rare three-lesson months when there's a major holiday.

If you don't want to be auto-billed (or if you're paying through the Hope Scholarship), please pay by the 25th of the month for the upcoming month of lessons.
4
How old does my student need to be to start lessons?
We generally recommend students start lessons at age 8, but many of our instructors accept younger students on a case-by-case basis. Request more info here.
5
What do I need to get started?
Students are responsible for purchasing their own instruments, books, accessories, and other materials for lessons. But for your first lesson, no materials are required. (Stop by the office to borrow a trial instrument for your first lesson!)
6
What if I have to cancel?
As long as you cancel your lesson with at least 12 hours’ notice, a Make-Up Lesson Credit will be issued. This credit may be used to schedule a make-up lesson online, by email, or directly with your instructor. Make-Up Lesson Credits never expire and can be used anytime. (Make-Up Lesson Credits are also issued when an instructor needs to cancel.)
Cancellations made with less than 12 hours’ notice are not eligible for a Make-Up Lesson Credit.
7
What if I'm not able to use the Make-Up Lesson Credit?
Make-Up Lesson Credits help ensure consistent, steady income for our instructors, so please try to schedule a make-up lesson whenever possible!
However, some of our instructors do keep very full schedules, so if you're having a hard time scheduling a make-up lesson, email us and let us know you'd like to convert your Make-Up Lesson Credit to a $25 Invoice Credit on next month's invoice.
